Hello, wonderful backers!
It's been a whirlwind for the past few days. We've teetered on the edge between "Is this happening??" to "This is happening!" and I can't thank you enough for the amount of love and support that you've shown for Sacrimony. I'm so excited that I get this chance to put out yet another issue of this tale of love, life and death (in no particular order) into the world and I'm very excited that you're excited about it!
We're just $250 away from total victory, $750 away from unlocking a bonus stretch goal, 5 backers away from the bonus bookmark and we've already scored 2 bonus digital artbook sketches. Things are going really well!
As promised, here's a preview of the bonus bookmark design!
It's going to be double-sided, inked and colored and I'll keep you posted with art progress updates. This will be included for free as part of every physical backer tier. I've got another milestone awaiting at 150 backers and I'll unveil that after we officially hit 125!
I'll also be unveiling the $5500 stretch goal once we're officially 100% funded.

I've decided to do this round of artbook sketches in pencil because it's what I seem to be in the mood to do. I've been wanting to do more pencil sketches and up my game, since I have a habit of inking most of the things that I do. I'll also be doing periodic updates with more artbook sketches so stay tuned.

A digital-first series about new vampire Mathilde as she seeks to regain autonomy and find direction in unlife through sexy adventures.
Mariah and I go way back when to a few years ago where we bonded over the frustrating ridiculousness that is "Trying to actually make successful webcomic." We noticed that we had similar themes in our webcomics, such as being character-driven fantasy stories set in a unique fantasy world, and there were even some unintentional similarities between some of our characters. Great minds think alike, I suppose!
Anyway, I'm really happy that she launched Usual Haunts on Kickstarter instead of throwing it into the webcomic void. Seeing it get funded in under an hour was SO SATISFYING and it's always great to see fellow webcomic folks killing it on Kickstarter.
If you're looking for a sex-positive, body-positive, female-pleasure-centric NSFW comic featuring cute dingus vampires, you should check out Usual Haunts. She's doing a digital-first release, which is great if you want to check out the story but you don't have shelf space or can't afford shipping or can't keep naughty art in your house, lest the kids get their hands on it and then you have to have a very awkward conversation that you'd all rather not have. Also, some commission slots (nsfw or sfw) have recently opened up and they're super limited quantity, so if you're itching for some custom art, definitely check out those tiers!

We're so close!

Hello, wonderful backers!
We've got just $765 left to go and 6 days to get there. It's probably going to be a close race, but it looks like Sacrimony #4 is happening, even if it comes down to the last few hours.
We're also getting closer and closer to unlocking some stretch goals and milestones.
Once we get to 115 backers (we're only 4 backers away!!), I'll unveil the bonus bookmark that every physical backer will get! We're so close!
We're also close to the start of the digital artbook, which is always my favorite part of running these campaigns. Just $265 more until it begins!
I'm honestly overwhelmed at the amount of support and kind words for Sacrimony that people have shown on social media and through direct messages.
When I began this journey, I was convinced that the story would be this weird 'niche' thing that only a small handful of people would 'get' on account of how unconventional the story is. I dunno, something that would get maybe 50 backers and a couple hundred bucks every campaign. I didn't think readers would be interested in a story that didn't feature action, cool fight scenes, epic adventures, defeating bad guys and saving the world, but never in my life have I been so glad to be wrong.
I struggled with doubting the core of the story for a very long time. On many occasions, I've tried to make Sacrimony into something that felt more 'epic' with more dire stakes than "Will Yunika be able to get a job in the big city so she can afford to live and support her daughter?" But "Will Yunika and Khajad be able to stop the world from ending?" just didn't work because, at the end of the day, not being able to get a job to support yourself and your child can feel like the end of the world.
Every time I've tried to make Sacrimony into something it wasn't meant to be, I hated it, scrapped it and started it over. I've lost track of how many different plotlines I've tried over the years, but after all of that, I realized that my characters just wanted to be 'human' and live their lives.
In the end, I'm so happy that I followed my heart and made the type of story that I like to read. And I'm very happy that people out in the internet void are starting to notice and tell me and the rest of the world how much they enjoy the story, how much they appreciate the deep complexity of the characters, how fascinated they are by the expansive world I've created and how excited they are to see where the story goes with each new issue.
These next 6 days are going to be rough to get through, but like I said in another post, it's not impossible. We're getting closer and closer little by little and we'll get there. And hopefully we'll be able to unlock some more stretch goals and milestones along the way!

Hello, wonderful backers!
As the clock ticks down, we've got 8 days to go and $1842 left to go and this image comes to mind.
I'm trying not to freak out, but being so far away from the goal with such little time left is scary.
Lately, I've seen way too many Kickstarter campaigns come down to the last few minutes to fund or not fund and my heart can't take it! I want people to get funded. I want people to make cool things and make money making cool things and I also want to make as many cool things as possible.
I've also seen people rallying together on social media to help get projects funded in their final hours and it's incredibly heartwarming. The indie comics industry is so amazing and supportive and I love the spirit of camaraderie so so much. I want to believe that the internet will be as kind to Sacrimony as it's been to other amazing projects. Another way we can get closer to the goal is if digital backers upgrade to physical books. I know this isn't ideal as people have limited shelf space and shipping costs can suck and also let's face it, times are tough and the cost of living is hella expensive, but if we can at least try to get to around $4000 in the next few days, Sacrimony will stand a better chance of getting funded in the final minutes. I'll even sweeten the pot by saying that if anyone upgrades from digital to physical, I'll throw in a bonus sticker and bookmark as thanks.

A large-scale newspaper comic book.
HOOKED is a stand alone comic book featuring Quick The Clockwork Knight. It starts as a 7” x 5” mini comic that you unfold as you read. What starts off as a simple fishing trip, becomes an epic adventure. As the story progresses, the comic gets larger and larger until it becomes an oversized 28” x 20” comic book experience at the climax of the story.
This comic book is printed in full color on a full newsprint broadsheet that is reminiscent of the golden age of Sunday newspaper comics (Little Nemo in Slumberland, Krazy Kat, Prince Valiant, The Spirit, etc.).

Hello there, wonderful backers!
I haven't been at my computer for the past few days, because sometimes I just need to spend time away from technology and chill out but oh my gosh it's so nice to see that we've crossed the hundred backer mark with more than 60% funding! We've got just two more weeks to go on this campaign and it feels like it's simultaneously going to be the longest and shortest two weeks of my life. But I'm sure we'll hit the funding goal by the end <3
So as promised, I'll be doing a backers-only update with the free comics bundle and also here's our next milestone!
Before I plan every Kickstarter campaign, I do a survey for previous backers, asking what they would like to see as the next set of rewards. The thing that always wins by a huge margin is bookmarks! This time around, stickers came in second place and sexy variant came in third. So yeah, once we hit the 125 backer mark, a free bookmark will be unlocked for all physical backers! Huzzah!
The design is a SeCrEt until we hit the 115 backer mark. So please go out and spread the good word of Sacrimony in order to help get more eyes on the project <3
